The families of three workers who died of COVID-19 while employed at the Tyson Foods, Watefrloo, IA. plant have filed wrongful death suits According to health authorities in Black Hawk Couunty (population 130,000 in 2019) that includes Cedar Falls and Waterloo, 2,293 cases of COVID-19 were confirmed with 59 fatalities (2.6 percent of diagnosed patients) The plaintiffs allege that the risks of contracting COVID-19 were not disclosed and that prior to the 14-day shutdown of the plant on April 22nd, inadequate PPE was provided to workers.
