On July 20th. USDA- Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) purchased 13 tons of bulk large and small chicken and chicken legs for a total value of $23,000 with an average unit price of $0.89 per lb. including legs at $0.25 per lb. and small chicken at $0.92 per lb. On July 22nd the USDA (AMS) purchased 19 tons of chicken fajita strips in 30 lb. cartons for $103,000 with a unit price of $2.70 per lb. 
Deliveries will be made during the month of September for distribution to Child Nutrition and other food assistance programs.
