Milky Way International Trading Corp. in Norwalk, CA. is recalling almost 150 tons of ready-to-eat canned corned beef products imported and distributed without the benefit of FSIS import re-inspection. The products were apparently inspected in Australia, but the company 
failed to follow FSIS re-inspection procedures. Accordingly, the FSIS issued a Class I recall March 2nd although there have been no reports of health issues relating to consuming the product. This episode represents a loss to MW Polar, the holding company of Milky Way International Trading Corp. and is an unfortunate waste of protein.
