The USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) will now require all employees of the Agency whether in plants or regional offices to wear a face covering in accordance with
recommendations issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. This requirement applies to employees that have received a COVID vaccine in areas with high prevalence rates of COVID.
Government has indicated that it will require all Federal employees to receive COVID vaccination allowing some religious or health exemptions.
FSIS employees who are not fully vaccinated must continue to wear a face shield and mask and practice social distancing in plants.
