The Wall Street Journal and the CFTC (Release 8413-21) reported that Tyson Foods has agreed to pay $1.5 million to the Commodity Futures Training Commission (CFTC) to settle charges relating to violations relating to soybean meal futures contracts. The Company has also accepted a cease and desist order concerning futures contracts. The perio
d covered extended from January 2016 to January 2021. During this time, Tyson apparently held more contracts then allowed, and did not comply with record keeping requirements and also filed incorrect 204 Forms reporting non-existent sales of soybean meal.
