On May 20th USDA-AMS purchased 332 tons of split breasts at an average price of $3.48 per lb. and 1,287 tons of whole bagged frozen chicken at a price range of $1.44 to $1.62 per lb.
On May 23rd, the USDA-AMS purchased 605 tons of frozen chicken fillets and 1,326 tons of frozen chicken strips with both products at $5.00 per lb.
The total value of the purchases amounted to $28.4 million, with product to be 
delivered during the third quarter for child nutrition and food assistance programs.
