Creekstone Farms will establish a childcare center adjacent to their Arkansas City, KS plant. The proposed 20,000 square foot center will provide facilities for 100 children at a cost estimated at $3.5 million.
The center will operate independently as the Walnut Valley Learning Center, LLC and will receive technical assistance from operators of child-learning centers. Unlike a project established by Hormel Foods, Walnut Valley Learning Center will receive a justified tax incentive from Arkansas City.
Creekstone Foods is constantly upgrading wage rates and fringe benefits for their 1,200 plant employees and is providing workers with on-site food service and other amenities.
