Antibiotic-Free Production Workshop at 2020 IPPE


In a November 19th announcement, USPOULTRY and the University of Georgia Department of Poultry Science will cooperate in presenting a workshop Processing for Antibiotic-Free Production. The workshop is scheduled for Thursday, January 30th and Friday, January 31st. topics to be considered will include control of Salmonella and Campylobacter applying antibiotic-free production. This is a timely consideration given that approximately half of U.S. broilers are now reared according to some form of antibiotic-free restriction.

The first day will comprise lectures including biosecurity, hatchery sanitation, vaccination and control of coccidiosis. The second day, to take place at the University of Georgia Poultry Science Complex in Athens, GA. will include demonstrations and hands-on activities with specific reference to hatcheries, vaccination and related control measures.
