Chipotle Partners with Uber Eats


Previously CHICK-NEWS has commented on the competitive advantage of QSRs with drive thru installations over free-standing and store-front operations given the reluctance of consumers to use order counters.

This placed Chipotle at a disadvantage given the high proportion of locations without drive through installations.  Under the guidance of CEO and now chairman Brian Niccol the company is installing walk-up windows and pick-up portals to compensate for the ineptitude of the founder Steve Ells and his incompetent subordinates. All new stores will have drive-through capability. 

To maintain revenue, Chipotle Mexican Grill has partnered with Uber Eats.  The program will feature online ordering and customization using Delivery Kitchens operated by special teams embedded in Chipotle locations.  Chipotle has also developed tamper-proof packaging seals to maintain the integrity and safety of deliveries.

Chris Brandt, chief marketing officer for Chipotle stated, "now more than ever we know our guests want the convenience of getting our food delivered directly to their doorstep".  He added  “we are excited to expand our delivery footprint through our partnership with Uber Eats, that will make it even easier for fans to get the food they love without leaving their home."
