According to Oklahoma House Bill HB2983, standard management practices to handle poultry waste will be placed under the direction of the Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food and Forestry in place of the USDA - Natural Resources Conservation Service.
The bill sponsored by State Rep. David Hardin was signed into law by Governor Kevin Stitt. In approving the bill, the Governor stated, "this was truly a collaborative effort to address the needs of Oklahoma poultry farmers and HB2983 helps provide stability and relief for them.
